With a Newly Appointed Female President, Award-Winning Tour Operator Commits to More Female-Led Tours with Trip Benefitting a Female Forward Nonprofit
BILLINGS, Mont. (March 8, 2021) – Austin Adventures, the family-owned company that has been curating one-of-a-kind experiences for travelers for over 35-years, today launches a coveted women’s only trip to Costa Rica in honor of International Women’s Month. The tour operator, which just appointed new female president Kasey Austin to the executive team, created this trip to celebrate and empower women to travel again when people are more comfortable traveling later this year. Austin Adventure’s inaugural Costa Rica Women’s-Only trip is slated for October 2 – October 9, 2021.
The getaway will be led by President Austin who will be joined by female Tico guides. The itinerary will exclusively include visits to all female-owned businesses. Austin Adventures will donate $500 from each trip booked to local Costa Rican women’s nonprofit, the Commission of Artisans of Santa Elena de Monteverde (CASEM) – a cooperative of female artisans who produce textiles, jewelry, handicrafts and art in their homes to provide for their families. Founded in the 1980s as a result of the economic crisis, the group has today grown to include 82 women and four men.
“Women-only travel is about community-building and that is especially crucial now in this new COVID landscape when we need it the most,” said Kasey Austin, President of Austin Adventures. “We’re not only empowering women to step out of their comfort zone with unique adventures, but we’re empowering the female small business owners in Costa Rica by bringing much-needed revenue their way.”
The eight-day, seven-night getaway, departing in fall 2021 will include stays in some of Costa Rica’s premier resorts, including Costa Rica Marriott Hotel Hacienda Belen, Hotel Arenal Nayara, Hotel Senda Monteverde, and Hotel Nammbu. Travelers will enjoy women-led activities with vendors who were hit hardest during the COVID-19 pandemic, such as an experience a Campesino Farm with Yuliana Rodriguez and a trek at La Fortuna with Pure Trek, led by Cynthia Crummer. Other activities include Sarapiqui Rafting Class, the Ecotermales Hot Springs, canyoning, snorkeling and so much more.
Austin Adventure’s professional team of tour guides is comprised of more than 60 percent women. Female guides serve as naturalists, drivers, chefs, storytellers, logistical gurus, and confidants – and the company empowers them to tap into their own strength and courage as they guide travelers in extraordinary experiences.
Pricing begins at $5,458 per person. For more information on Austin Adventures’ women-only Costa Rica trip, please click HERE.
