Really wonderful trip that was well-planned and accommodated the needs/wants of the various participants. The food was outstanding—even on the hikes—where we all carried a portion of lunch with local cheeses, meat, breads and fruit. The hikes were rigorous but not so tiring that you couldn't enjoy the evenings. Hotels were charming and did not remove you from the local population like Mariotts and Hyatts tend to do. It was fun to participate in a range of outdoor activities and as an environmental scientist, hiking up to the glacier snouts was thrilling. All the guides were very competent and generally chill. Holly was a great leader who oversaw the group and took care of details seamlessly.

The trip was marvelous in every way. We covered so much ground, and got to see everything. Charming small towns, quaint hotels with character- and amazing views and scenery. We kept an aggressive schedule-which was necessary to complete the circuit in 12 days. The guides were superb-the mountain guide Fabi- knew the trails intimately, and kept us at our pace. The local logistics person Suzanne, had everything ready for the mornings, and our bags where they should be, ready at the new hotel. The Active Adventures guy Andy made sure everything went smoothly-and acted as a second guide-all the restaurants greeted us warmly, since they knew our guides. The hiking was top-notch we covered 65 miles- it was an amazing feat, but the way it was broken up and organized, they just made it doable. Little chunks at a time. It was rigorous- yet manageable, since you were doing it with a bunch of like-minded, fellow adventurers who were all flexible and fun.

This was a dream trip to see the Alps, France, Italy, and Switzerland and to hike thru so much beautiful country/scenery. The guides Andy from Active Adventures, and Bernadette and Clem who were local mountain guides were all fabulous and very encouraging and supportive.

Excellent guides, great dining, serious hiking. All in beautiful Savoie. In seven days of hiking, we hiked through three countries and enjoyed their local cheese and wines and cuisines. Active Adventures has put together a great trip, with resourceful, experienced guides, great choice of dining venues.
My special thanks to Holly - she is a true ambassador for AA, Jean-Marc, ever resourceful, seemed to know everybody along the hike, and many stories to tell, and Lionel who made sure we learn the ropes of walking in the snow, and Celine, who made every lunch a picnic to remember.

This was the most relaxing vacation I have ever taken. Every detail from start to finish was managed expertly by the ACTIVE Adventure trip organizers prior to the start of the trip. Once in country, Holly our gracious and adventurous guide continued to manage every detail of the trip which left my wife and I plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and the adventurous without any added stress. We love adventure and this turned out to be a great adventure to love.

The views of the alps are spectacular! I was pinching myself everyday to make sure I wasn't dreaming....
The hike was challenging through many steep ascents and descents, but the guides were supportive and reassuring to help you finish each day. I can't say enough praise for Jean-Marc, Lionel, Celine and Holly! The food and accommodations exceeded my expectations. So much good cheese!! I would highly recommend the QC Terme Spa during the free day in Courmoryour. It is over the top and reasonable cost. Our group of hikers are all new friends... varied in ages from 30's - 60's, from all over the world. ( California, Oregon, Missouri, Minnesota, Florida, Virginia, India and the Philippines! ) not to mention the guides from France and NZ...
This truly was a trip of a lifetime and one I'll never forget!
