Trip Highlights

Day by day trip

Our Death Valley itinerary strings together hidden canyons, sunrise colors, and wide-open wonder into one unforgettable adventure.

Arrive, Furnace Creek, Hike Golden Canyon

After your pick-up in Las Vegas we drive through wide open desert brings us to the largest national park in the lower 48 states, Death Valley. With bragging rights of being the hottest, driest, and lowest point in North America, Death Valley is a playground for adventurers worldwide. Our first stop in the Valley will be to the Visitor Center, where you can walk inside amongst the fascinating displays while your guides prepare a delicious lunch.

In the afternoon, we’ll enjoy our first activity together, a hike up the beautiful and surprisingly colorful Golden Canyon to Cathedral overlook.

Tonight, check into Oasis at Death Valley, a true oasis standing out against a beautiful desert backdrop.

Zabriskie Point, Hike Mosaic Canyon, explore Mesquite Sand Dunes

Today you'll have the chance to enjoy a classic sightseeing tour with stops along the way for photos and insights into the landscape from your guides. Visit Dante's View, Zabriskie Point, Badwater Basin, and Artist’s Palette, all landmarks which are just 30 minutes from your accommodation. On some of these stops you'll witness salt flats, burning orange mountains that roll across the horizon, and rock formations exquisitely carved by the elements.

After a picnic lunch, we’ll shuttle over to Mosaic Canyon for a hike in a geologic “outdoor museum” composed of smooth, water-polished marble.

Before sunset, we’ll meet back up to drive over to the Mesquite Sand Dunes; with their rippled shadows and graceful curves, the dunes are a photographer’s dream during the “golden hour”.

Please note accommodations are subject to change as outlined in the itinerary.

On the first day of the trip we can either pick you up from the Hampton Inn & Suites Las Vegas Airport at 8:30am, or the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Las Vegas Airport at 8:45am. You are welcome to book your pre-trip stay at either of these hotels directly or any other hotel in Las Vegas, though you must make your own way to one of the two pick-up points at the pre-designated times.

Your trip ends with a drop-off at either the Las Vegas Airport at 12pm in time for flights below or at a hotel of your choice around Las Vegas Airport at 12:30pm.

Arrival: We recommend arriving in Las Vegas at least the day before your trip starts. Many guests like to arrive a day or two early to accommodate potential flight delays and/or explore the city prior to your trip start.

Departure: Flying out on the last day of the trip, we recommend departing from Las Vegas after 2pm. Earlier flight times will require a separate transfer booked at your own expense.

Oasis at Death Valley, at the center of the Death Valley National Park, features cozy one-bedroom cottages where you can enjoy a morning coffee while you witness the sun rake across the date palms from your shared front porch. The Oases offers a serene lush garden, natural springs, spring-fed pool and a golf course!

We recommend bringing enough clothing to not have to do laundry during your trip, however there are laundry facilities available at the accommodation for an additional charge.

Hikes on this tour are considered easy to moderate, so a good level of fitness is recommended. Most hikes typically take between two to four hours, though some days may involve more or less hiking depending on the itinerary.
