You’ll glide along lush green riverbanks and towering red cliffs, keeping alert for sightings of wild horses and bald eagles.
Following lunch, we will begin our journey north stopping at Montezuma Castle to explore some of the best-preserved cliff dwellings in North America.

Two national monuments await us this morning which protect two very unique parts of Arizona’s history. Our first stop is Sunset Crater National Monument for a short hike to explore the lava flows from this dormant volcano. A short distance away we get an opportunity to walk amongst the ruins of five pueblos, getting a sense of what life was like in the early 1100’s when the landscape was much different than it is today.
After lunch we head to the south rim of the Grand Canyon through the east entrance giving us the opportunity to stop at Desert Watchtower offering some of the best views of the canyon. From here you can take the van to our hotel on the rim of the canyon or walk along the trail of time to learn more about the geology of the national park.

This morning, we hike down the South Kaibab trail to Cedar Ridge. The South Kaibab Trail winds us down into the depths of the Grand Canyon, giving us a much different perspective looking up at the Rim from below. We make our way down to Cedar Ridge, where the views of the Canyon and its colorful walls will leave you in awe. We enjoy our lunch and hike up and out, stopping frequently to catch our breath and take in the magnificent surroundings.
The afternoon is yours to relax or explore the South Rim Village.

After a full day of hiking we take it a bit easier this morning embarking on a “wow-inducing” hike along the rim of the Grand Canyon to soak up our last views before we have lunch in the park. Afterwards we make our way to Sedona. The rest of the day is yours to explore Sedona with quirky art studios and amazing restaurants to choose from for dinner on your own this evening.

Just outside of Sedona is a true oasis in the desert, Oak Creek canyon. We spend the morning hiking along the creek with a rich canopy of a variety of trees all around us and a chance to soak your feet in the cool waters before we reach views of the stunning Cathedral Rock. After lunch we hop in a custom made Jeep as we rock and roll over red rock formations and take in the amazing views all while learning more about this unique ecosystem.

Please note accommodations are subject to change as outlined in the itinerary.
On the first morning of the trip, our two pick-up locations are Canopy by Hilton Scottsdale Old Town at 8am or the Hyatt Place Scottsdale Old Town at 8:15am. You are welcome to book your pre-trip stay at either of these hotels directly or any other hotel in Phoenix, though you must make your own way to one of the two pick-up points at the pre-designated times.
Your trip ends with a drop-off at either the Phoenix Airport at 1pm in time for flights below or at a hotel of your choice in Phoenix around 1:30pm.
Arrival: We recommend arriving in Phoenix/Scottsdale at least the day before your trip starts. Many guests like to arrive a day or two early to accommodate potential flight delays and/or explore the city prior to your trip start.
Departure: Flying out on the last day of the trip, we recommend departing from Phoenix after 3pm. Earlier flight times will require a separate transfer booked at your own expense.
We have selected the accommodation on your trip for the stunning settings, unique character and adventuresome feel – it’s not designed as a tour of the fanciest hotels in Arizona. We prefer to stay in accommodations close to the park and our activities for the day that are comfortable after a full day of exploration.
While there are laundry facilities at some locations, they may not be convenient or there may only be one machine to service your entire group. We recommend bringing enough clothing to not have to do laundry during your trip, though if needed, the best time will be when you reach Sedona.
By paying in full, we are able to pass on savings to our guests, but please note that by opting for this payment plan, your booking becomes non-refundable, non-cancellable, and non-changeable. This offer is only valid for reservations where the trip is no sooner than 180 days from the departure date at time of booking.
We highly recommend that you purchase Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) insurance. We recommend Redpoint Insurance – you can find details here.
