Meet Yellowstone and Grand Tetons Guide: Bryce
Bryce was brought up in southeastern Wisconsin. A large portion of his childhood and teens was spent out on the soccer fields playing for a traveling club team. He loved to run so much that his punishment as a kid for not listening to a coach was to stand in one place instead of running laps. Every summer, you could find Bryce playing outside, hiking, biking, fishing, or working on a farm. Bryce gained an interest in travel from a young age while going on family or school trips throughout the world. Some of the destinations he's traveled to are Morocco, Mexico, Austria, Finland, and Russia!
After graduating from college, Bryce found a deep passion for learning about the world's cultures through experiences and embarked on a journey throughout Europe. Ever since then, he has pursued his desire to travel and explore different parts of the country and world, and working for Austin Adventures is part of that journey.
What's your favorite travel destination?
Montenegro has a special place in my heart. It's such a small and undervalued country with an incredible diversity in landscape and wildlife.
What's your favorite adventure activity?
I love having a wide variety of ways to adventure, so I can't say one activity in particular is my favorite. Hiking, biking, rafting, kayaking, camping, snowboarding, surfing... get me outside and moving and I'm happy.
What has been your most inspiring adventure experience?
Traveling through Europe for 14 months and visiting 11 different countries was one of my favorite parts of my life.
When did you first get the travel bug?
Since I was young my family and I planned a large trip every few years. Gaining cultural experiences throughout the world has been apart of my upbringing, but I really started to explore on my own after graduating college.
What destination would you most like to travel to (that you haven't been to yet)?
Brazil, Central Africa, or East Asia. They're all so different in culture and environment.
Do you have any favorite hobbies or special talents you could tell us about?
Jiu-Jitsu! I have been training for the past 8-9 years and love the community of the sport.
What is your favorite trip to lead?
Yellowstone & Grand Teton Adventure and Yellowstone & Grand Teton Family Vacation!
What inspired you to become a trip leader?
I have done a lot of soul searching over the past 3 years and have found a foundation in encouraging people to push past their comfort zones, exploring, and learning about the world and solidifying that knowledge by sharing it with others.
