Kady was born and raised on the beaches of Naples, Florida with a love for being outside at an early age. She spent her early childhood at a sleep away camp in Maine, where her love for backpacking, climbing, hiking and rafting really started. From there she spent her summers in the mountains of western North Carolina throughout high school and college.
She graduated from the Florida Gulf Coast University with a degree in Environmental Science. After university she was backpack guiding in Maine before she realized the mountains of Breckenridge, Colorado were calling her. Breckenridge has been home for over a decade, and when Kady isn't guiding she is backpacking or chasing knee deep powder across the western states with good people, no cell phone service, and lots of laughs.
What's your favorite travel destination?
Aspen, Telluride, Jackson Hole are a few.
What's your favorite adventure activity?
Hiking, rafting, camping, snowboarding, climbing.
What has been your most inspiring adventure experience?
Moving to Colorado.
When did you first get the travel bug?
I went to sleepaway summer camp when I was 7 years old in Maine and continued for the next six summers spending time hiking, eventually getting into backpacking and rafting class IV and V (when I was big enough) My grandma bought a home in Western North Carolina where I spent summers through high school and college backpacking.
What is your favorite trip to lead?
Glacier National Park Hiking Adventure and the Glacier 4-Day Getaway — for the wildlife, and majestic views.
Why did you want to guide for Austin Adventures?
The greatest feeling in the world is sharing journeys and experiences with others who may not feel confident to do them on their own.
